Attracting push, Maria Grudskaya

Maria Grudskaya

About masterclass: Attraction and pushing – these two forces, which appear in a contact dance, can seem opposite. Attraction is moving towards, acceptance, “yes”, release, listening, yielding, gravitating. Pushing is moving away, separating, intension, resistance, force, decision, manipulation. Often we use both at the same time – pushing the floor we come to the partner, then push the partner while attracting to him and yield back to the floor.. During the class we will play with different qualities of attraction and pushing, opening new opportunities of the contact dance.
About Maria Grudskaya: I practice and teach CI and dance improvisation to children and adults. Also I perform with the contemporary dance theatre and create impro performances with friends. I like to add improvisation to choreography, use dance and acrobatic elements in impro pieces, mix, shake and enjoy.
