| About masterclass: | Improvisation for dancers that focuses on the authentic experience of moving…making choices connected to your whole being requires a wide range of awareness: physical, emotional, intellectual, artistic, maybe even spiritual…what makes us a holistic dancer/ performer? What makes a dance work? And where lies the difference in the internal process of practicing improvisation and then staying connected to the space, to other dancers and to ourselves? How can I keep my relationship, my trust with my contact partner and have an awareness for an audience…?
As we dive into all of this, the basic work comes first…breathing, sensing, sharing the weight, exploring the space outside and within ourselves…maybe we find challenges in our bodies, what happens if we breath and move through them? I take my experience as a dancer, contacter and movement therapist (Feldenkrais based work) to travel with you through your bodies, space, time and force. | | About Sabine Parzer: | Is a dancer, choreographer, dance- and movement teacher and works in a dance therapeutic setting. Born and raised in Vienna, Austria, she spent ten years abroad (USA and Germany). In Chicago she earned a Bachelor of Arts in modern dance and danced in Mordine and Company Dance Theatre and many independent productions. Her choreographies have been performed in Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Vienna, Berlin a.o. She was a co-founder of the collaboration group “Loop Troop”.
In recent years her performance has focused on improvisational work, which she performes at festivals, art galleries and in nature.
Sabine has taught people from the age of 2 till 92 in improvisation, release work, contact improvisation and authentic movement ( i.e. Impuls Festival Vienna, KontaktBudapest). Since 1999 she has been teaching dance and movement at a rehabilitation center in Austria for people after work/ traffic accidents and neurological diseases.
She is a practitioner of ZenBodytherapy(R), TRT Radiance(R) and Systemische und Integrative Bewegungslehre (an extended Feldenkrais method)(R).
She has two children.
